Water Safety & Patrols in the Cape-to-Cape Region Margaret River Surf Life Saving Club (MRSLSC) members play a vital role in ensuring water safety across the Cape-to-Cape region. Our dedicated volunteers provide essential support during Nipper Event Days, School activity programs, and Large-scale ocean events. In addition, skilled members contribute to the Incident Response Team, offering rapid assistance in emergencies.
Our junior members also participate in patrols alongside neighboring clubs at Busselton and Smiths Beach, gaining valuable experience and strengthening regional collaboration.
The Cape-to-Cape coastline is renowned for having some of the largest surf in the world. Our members are trained to operate in these challenging conditions, and many go on to work as professional lifeguards. Due to the remote and rugged nature of many local beaches, the traditional red and yellow flag system is not used. Instead, water safety relies heavily on coordinated incident response, including support from rescue helicopters, jet skis, and local surfers. Attached is the Bronze Patrol Schedule outlining member assignments for upcoming events throughout the season.
