Nippers Program
Woodside Nippers Program – Western Australia The Woodside Nippers Program is a flagship initiative of Surf Life Saving Western Australia (SLSWA), proudly supported by Woodside Energy. It is designed to introduce children aged 5 to 13 years to the fundamentals of surf lifesaving, beach safety, and community awareness in a fun, inclusive, and educational environment. Through age-appropriate activities, Nippers learn essential skills such as:

🏃♂️ Running, swimming, and board paddling
🩹 Basic first aid and rescue techniques
👫 Teamwork, leadership, and confidence-building
The program is delivered by parent volunteers across local surf life saving clubs in W.A, including weekend sessions, carnivals, and family-friendly events. It also serves as a pathway into Junior lifesaving, with opportunities to progress into patrol roles and lifeguard training as participants grow older.
Youth Training & Lifeguard Pathway Program
Youth Training & Lifeguard Pathway Program The Margaret River Surf Life Saving Club offers a comprehensive training and social program designed to engage youth in all aspects of community safety and ocean rescue. This program is ideal for young members who are passionate about surf lifesaving and interested in progressing toward becoming qualified lifeguards. Participants receive training in:

🩹 First aid and emergency response
🚤 Inflatable Rescue Boat (IRB) operations
🛻 All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) handling
🛵 Jet Ski operation
🏖️ Lifeguard development and patrol readiness
Members also have the opportunity to contribute to large-scale water safety events across the Cape to Cape region and to patrol beaches in collaboration with allied Surf Life Saving Clubs.
